Rowan officially opened its new offices in Oranmore, just in time to celebrate at the Galway Races. The company with a team of 23 people provides specialist services in environmental consultancy and forensic engineering.
Tom Rowan, a University College Galway graduate, founder, and managing director said, “our decision to have a permanent base in Galway reflects our vision to complete excellent work and achieve our business goals while maintaining our sense of humour and work-life balance.”
With five team members living in Galway and the company headquartered in Trim, County Meath, Tom explains, “we wanted to offer a better work-life balance for our Galway-based team while also enhancing our service to our clients in Galway and Connacht.”
“Galway is a vibrant city and we expect to grow our Connacht business significantly over the next few years and increase our Galway-based team to ten by 2024.”
Clients include the Coffey Group, Kepak Group, and Tayto Snacks, as well as insurance companies (IPB, RSA, AIG, FBD), local authorities, and Galway solicitors: RDJ, Mac Sweeney, and Alastair Purdy & Co.
“We intend to hire four environmental consultants and one forensic engineer”.
With the additional environmental consultants on board, Rowan will develop its environmental services so that its Connacht clients can meet their statutory and personal environmental and sustainability obligations.
These services include Environmental Planning reports such as Environmental Impact Assessment reports (EIARs) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs) as well as the specialised areas of Sustainability & Decarbonisation, Industrial Emissions Licencing, and Land Contamination Assessments.
Tom confirmed they now offer, “advanced drone surveying and data analysis which will enable us to monitor and measure the progress of landfill sites, cut and fill on construction sites and even algae bloom or plant growth on water courses.”
The additional forensic engineer will be involved in “independently investigating personal injury or property damage claims and providing expert reports and evidence in court.”
The company is a member of the Galway Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to participating with the Chamber and their members at future events
