Rowan engineers have undertaken extensive training and research in to the area of slips, trips and falls to increase their expertise and knowledge to assist the courts in establishing liability when an accident occurs.
Most recently our engineers undertook training with Rob Shaw who was the Technical Team Lead for the Falls Prevention Team at the Health & Safety Laboratory (HSL). As a key member of HSL’s falls prevention forensic investigation team, he undertook and oversaw a wide range of incident investigations relating to pedestrian slip assessment and stair fall assessment in many different industries.
During the training our engineers covered topics relating to:

- Testing methods and best practice
- Pendulum training to assess flooring slip resistance
- Risk assessment
- Cleaning and Monitoring
