Rowan offers energy consultancy services, including energy auditing, in compliance with the requirements of SI426 of 2014 and the Energy Efficiency Directive, to organisations who wish to achieve continuous improvement in their environmental and energy performance.
Energy auditing is a tool to gather data on the energy consumption on-site, assess overall energy performance, and use this monitoring to identify energy-saving opportunities.
Through our services, we work with our clients to support them on their journey towards more sustainable operation by identifying options to reduce energy use and transition to more energy-efficient processes and practices, including assessing opportunities for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Rowan works with our clients on the development and planning of renewable energy projects. We have applied our planning expertise to applications for onshore wind farms, solar farms and emerging innovative technologies that support the integration of renewable energy into the grid. We offer our services from the project inception and scoping stage through the complete planning application process, including section 5 applications, EIARs and co-ordinating surveys.

Decarbonisation Strategy
Rowan can assess the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions across your entire value chain, prepare submissions for Science-Based Targets and help you develop your decarbonisation plan while always adhering to sustainability best practices such as the GHG Protocol.
These assessments cover scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions. Scope 1 emissions are directly linked to your operations and include emissions associated with fossil fuel combustion. Scope 2 are indirect emissions associated with electricity consumption. Scope 3 covers all other aspects of your value chain, including raw material, packaging, transportation, distribution, employee commuting and business travel.
Rowan’s detailed analysis covers all relevant activity data from your operation, evaluates the associated carbon footprint and provides advice and guidance on how to effectively reduce your carbon footprint. These assessments are usually carried out as two separate projects. Scope 1 and 2 are typically analysed together to analyse the emissions associated with your operations. Scope 3 is a far longer analysis covering all upstream and downstream business activity.
Our structured approach can be used to develop a long-term decarbonisation plan across your organisation’s electricity and fossil fuel consumption. Rowan’s knowledge of both national and international energy policy means we can effectively support organisations to deliver their carbon net zero target.
